Bill Cobbs — who 90’s cinephiles might identify from movies like The Bodyguard, Air Bud, and That Factor You Do! — has died. He was 90. Information of his passing was shared by his brother, Thomas G. Cobbs, on Facebook. “We are saddened to share the passing of Invoice Cobbs,” he wrote. “On Tuesday, June 25, Invoice handed absent peacefully at his dwelling in California. A beloved companion, major brother, uncle, surrogate mum or dad, godfather and friend, Invoice lately and fortunately celebrated his 90th birthday surrounded by cherished loved types. As a family we are comforted knowing Invoice has found peace and everlasting rest with his Heavenly Father. We request for your prayers and encouragement throughout this time.”
Cobbs was born in 1934 in Cleveland, Ohio. He received his start out in theater in Ohio, and went on to do the job with the Negro Ensemble Company in New York. His initially film performing gig was on The Getting of Pelham A single Two Three. Cobbs is in numerous of the most group-satisfying films of the 90’s. He played Whitney Houston’s supervisor in The System Guard, Grandpa Booker in The Folks Less than the Stairs, and Air Bud’s mentor in Air Bud.
