In the 108 days since we launched our movie-trivia grid game, Cinematrix, we’ve learned a great deal about the cinephilic hordes who turn up to play each day. Like that they really believe Billy Madison should count for the “City Name in Title” category. (Never happening.) Or that they recall Tilda Swinton starring in Tár. (She didn’t.) And that there’s one thing they want more than anything: an archive of past games. (Which is not what we’re here to announce, though stay tuned.)
But if there’s a second thing they want more than anything else, it’s games on Saturday and Sunday. On that front, we have good news. Starting this weekend, you’ll be able to begin every day — at whatever time it begins, providing it’s after 5 a.m., which, let’s hope — with a brand-new puzzle. Cinematrix will now be waiting for you when you lazily emerge from a peaceful Sunday-morning slumber, or there to serve as a distraction from the fact that it’s Saturday morning and the kids for some reason woke up even earlier than they do during the week. No matter how your weekends play out, you can look forward to a moment of Cinematrix — and if you sign up for the email alert, each day’s grid will be that many clicks closer:
We’re excited, and we hope you are, too. Now, back to work on an archive …
