A new Adele album isn’t coming out anytime soon.
The award-winning singer — who released her latest album, “30,” in 2021 — revealed that she’s taking a step back from music after her “Weekends with Adele” Las Vegas residency ends in November.
“I don’t have any plans for new music at all,” she said in an interview with German outlet ZDF on Sunday.
“I want a big break after this and I think I want to do other creative things, just for a little while.”
The “Hello” artist added, “I don’t like being famous. I love that I get to make music all the time.”
Adele began her Vegas residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Nov. 2022. Her final show is scheduled for November 23, after she does 10 special shows at Munich, Germany’s Open Air Arena from Aug. 2-31.
When announcing the final dates of her residency in October, Adele penned a heartfelt note about what the Sin City shows have meant to her.
“This residency, these shows have changed my life,” she wrote on X (formerly Twitter). “I desperately needed to fall back in love with performing live again, and I have. I needed to reconnect with my songs and remember what they mean to me, and I have!”
She went on: “Being on stage over the last year so up close and personal with an audience again after all these years has been a truly extraordinary restorative experience that I’ll never forget. All the hilarious, soulful, wild and heartbreaking interactions we’ve had are banked in my mind for life.”
So far, Adele has released four albums: “19” (2008), “21” (2011), “25” (2015) and “30” (2021).
In December 2023, the “Easy on Me” artist told The Hollywood Reporter that making new music was not on her radar.
“I get nervous about wearing my voice out [at the residency]. It’s a lot of singing. It’s two hours. It’s all live. It’s a lot,” she said. “And I f–king motormouth and chat me ass off as well. But yeah, I have nothing to say yet. I haven’t even thought about it.”
She also told the publication that her “dream job” is to be a script reader.
When asked if she’d launch her own production company, the “Set Fire to the Rain” singer replied, “I don’t want to build my own things, I want to work with something. I don’t want to create something. I want to join something. That’s how I feel.”
“That’s what I’d actually love. People think it’s hilarious, and they don’t take me seriously,” Adele said. “And I often say to my manager, “I think I could make some really great stuff, I want to be really successful at something.” And he’s like, ‘What?!’ I was like, ‘I know, but [music] is my hobby. I just fell into it and then it just happened. I want to be in TV and behind the scenes.’ “
Motherhood may also be on her mind. That same year, she admitted to fans she was “ready to be a mom again soon” at one of her residency shows.
Adele shares 10-year-old son Angelo with her ex-husband, Simon Konecki. The two finalized their divorce in April 2019. She has been dating sports agent Rich Paul since early 2021.
