Rep. Ilhan Omar’s daughter explained she was suspended Thursday by Barnard School after refusing to leave an encampment established up on campus in help of Gaza.
Isra Hirsi, 21, mentioned she received recognize that she and at minimum two other learners were suspended for “standing in solidarity with Palestinians experiencing a genocide,” Hirsi wrote on X, the social media platform previously recognized as Twitter.
Hirsi, an organizer with a college student group that advocates for Palestinians, reported this was her initial time currently being punished as a university student activist in her 3 a long time at the New York City college.
“Those people of us in Gaza Solidarity Encampment will not be intimidated,” she wrote.
