A driver in an Arizona crash that killed 5 people was allegedly applying TikTok when he slammed into a stopped car or truck, authorities said this week in saying his arrest.
Danny G. Tiner, 36, has been billed with manslaughter in the 6-motor vehicle collision.
The Arizona Division of Community Security explained Tiner was on TikTok and unsuccessful to prevent his tractor-trailer in advance of managing into stopped targeted traffic on Interstate 10 close to Chandler about 6:15 a.m. Jan. 12.
Five men and women died in the crash that associated two commercial autos.
Tiner formerly instructed authorities he was examining a concept on his “digital work tablet” and when he appeared again up “he could not prevent his vehicle in time to prevent a collision,” according to regulation enforcement.
The FBI assisted ADPS with a forensic assessment of Tiner’s mobile phone, which discovered he was allegedly working with the social media app at the time of the crash. Authorities say Tiner was also allegedly driving 68 mph in the 55-mph zone.
Tiner was arrested at his property Thursday and billed with five counts of manslaughter, four counts of endangerment and one particular rely of tampering with physical evidence.
