Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis pledged on the campaign trail for president on Monday that his administration will change the rules of engagement at the border to bodily cease drug smugglers with deadly pressure.
“Weâre heading to make suitable principles of engagement, if somebody were breaking into your household to do anything negative you would respond with drive,” DeSantis mentioned even though browsing the southern border in Eagle Go, Texas, on Monday. “However why donât we do that at the southern border?”
“So if the cartels are slicing by way of the border wall attempting to operate product or service into this place, they are heading to stop up stone-chilly lifeless as a result of that terrible conclusion.”
DeSantis added, “If you fall a couple of these cartel operatives, theyâll prevent coming.”
The Florida Republican was in Texas unveiling his border security agenda that he pledged will “end the invasion” at the southern border.
“On Jan. 20, 2025, we will be on a mission to prevent the invasion at our southern border to fight the drug cartels that are poisoning our citizenry, to create the border wall, and to reestablish the sovereignty of this country,” DeSantis reported. “We are finished with guarantees. We are performed with slogans. Now is the time for motion. No excuses. We will get the occupation performed.”
The governor pressured that it is “humiliating as a region to not have control in excess of our possess territory.”
And he slammed President Biden, charging that “this border simply because of the neglect of the Biden administration, simply because of their intentional failures, this border is managed by the Mexican drug cartels. That is a disgrace. That is horrific.”
