Even with rumors to the contrary, the Suns do not program on investing center Deandre Ayton, Bleacher Report’s Chris Haynes reported Sunday. Phoenix thinks Ayton’s value is at an all-time large and desires to see him play along with Devin Booker, Kevin Durant and the recently obtained Bradley Beal.
The report comes a day immediately after Keith Pompey of The Philadelphia Inquirer documented that the Suns had been fascinated in facilitating a trade with the 76ers, in which Phoenix would offer absent Ayton to a third crew and land Philadelphia’s Tobias Harris in the approach.
Ayton, 24, is 1 of the best young massive adult males in the NBA but is coming off a disappointing playoff run. He averaged 18 factors and 10 rebounds for the duration of the 2022-23 standard time but just 10.8 details and 8.2 boards through the Western Conference semifinals from the Nuggets.
Phoenix fired mentor Monty Williams—who consistently clashed with Ayton—and hired previous Lakers coach Frank Vogel this offseason. The thoroughly clean slate and addition of Beal is predicted to be fantastic for Ayton, and it appears the Suns want to see what this new version of the group looks like while keeping their young centre in the middle.
