A civilian was killed in the firing by the Russian army in the Ukrainian southern city of Kherson. The local governor has informed this on Sunday. Ukraine recaptured Kherson city and parts of Kherson region in November after months of Russian occupation. However, Russian forces still regularly shell the city and surrounding areas from the opposite side of the Dnieper River.
Woman buried in rubble
A shell fired by the Russian army hit the house of the victim’s family, killing one person while another family member was trapped under the debris. “A shell exploded in the middle of the room,” Alexander Prokudin said on the Telegram messaging app. A woman is trapped under the rubble but is alive.’
Ukrainian officials also reported that Russians opened fire in the south of Dnipropetrovsk region during the night, injuring one person and damaging 3 private houses.
Earlier too, civilians were injured in drone attacks
Earlier on Monday morning, two civilians were injured and property damaged in a drone attack on the federal capital of Ukraine, Kyiv. The attack was confirmed by the military administration of Ukraine. Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said in a telegram that technicians were working to stabilize heat and power supplies in the area affected by the attack. Infrastructure was also severely damaged.
