Alexander Lukashenko, the president of Belarus, reached an agreement with Russia with the head of the Wagner Group, Yevgeny Prigozhin, under which Prigozhin ordered his troops to withdraw.Putin was so strict with Yevgeny that he would not go to Russia but to Belarus. Then Yevgeny Prigozhin suddenly announced late Saturday night that his violent, coup attempt was over.Yevgeny Prigozhin released a statement via the official Telegram channel, saying, 'There can be bloodshed, so one side must understand the responsibility so that it can be prevented. We are returning with our caravan and going back to the field camp as planned. Within hours of the statement, Wagner's mercenaries were seen leaving the city in their trucks in the city of Rostov. Here people took selfies with Wagner's soldiers Putin's friend and Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko played an important role in putting down the coup. Acting as mediator, Lukashenko brokered a deal between Russia and Yevgeny, after which he ordered his troops to withdraw. According to a statement released from Lukashenko's office, during these talks, there was constant rapprochement with Putin, after which a deal was reached and Yevgeny agreed to withdraw. Yevgeny will now live in Belarus. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov says Wagner, head of a private Russian military company, will travel to neighboring Belarus under a de-escalation agreement and the criminal case against him will be closed.The Kremlin has made it clear that charges against Yevgeny Prigozhin in the mutiny case will be dropped and that soldiers linked to him will not be prosecuted. Yevgeny himself will go to Belarus. In addition, fighters who participated in the uprising would not be prosecuted, but would instead be given the opportunity to sign an agreement to join the Russian army. Putin has been in power for more than two decades. To mitigate the crisis, the government has accepted the agreement.
