The Dead keep on truckinâ.
Dead and Company featuring John Mayer just announced they will play an additional six concerts as part of their ongoing âDead Foreverâ residency at Las Vegasâ Sphere this August.
Their new shows will take place Aug. 1-3 and 8-10.
âWeâre having a ball at Sphere Vegas, so letâs keep it going! See you for two additional weekends in August,â the group shared via Instagram.
This residency, which began on May 16, has seen the famously unpredictable Dead tread familiar territory and mix up their set lists at all shows, according to Set List FM.
It also comes on the heels of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame bandâs 2023 farewell tour. Up until January 31, the Dead appeared to be done with live shows. That was until they shared an Instagram post that read âIn 2023, Dead & Company played their final tour,â the band wrote. âBut there are other ways to make sure the music never stops. And itâs gonna be a ball.â

Dead and Company concert review
Last summer, the NY Postâs resident Deadhead Ryan Murphy saw Dead and Co. at Citi Field.
âThey kept it all about the music and their farewell over the course of their four-hour set,â Murphy noted.

Huge jam bands on tour in 2024
Dead and Company essentially created the template for freewheeling, improvisatory rock back in the â60s.
Over the years, many acts have followed their lead and created their own version of the âno two set lists are the sameâ spectacle.
Here are just five of our favorites you wonât want to miss live this year.
