Pakistan is following a repressive policy in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). Pakistan used heavy lathi-charge and fired tear gas shells at people demonstrating on issues like taxes, inflation and power shortage. On Saturday, Pakistan Police and Pakistan Rangers took strict action against Kashmiris. He lathi-charged the protesters and fired in the air. The protesters were fired with AK-47. Tear gas was used. Two protesters were killed and scores of others injured in the crackdown by Pakistani security forces. This action was taken to stop the protest march of local people. The people of occupied Kashmir are being treated like slaves by Pakistan. People who were peacefully protesting against rising taxes, inflation and electricity load shedding were targeted here. Protesters had planned to take out a march in Mirpur’s Dadiyal taluka on Saturday, but the Pakistani police broke up before they could.
Electricity from PoK is being supplied to cities in Pakistan
Why were the people of PoK finally strong enough to take to the streets? Because she is fed up with the repressive decisions of the government of Pakistan. They are not getting electricity from the hydroelectric projects in PoK. Their electricity is being supplied to the cities of Pakistan. Besides, the electricity bill has also been increased drastically. Due to which the local people are fed up.
Anger unleashed on police vehicles
The police accused the protesters of violence and said that the protesters pelted them with stones. When the police and paramilitary forces used force against the protesters, they vented their anger on the police vehicles.
