X Corp banned 184,241 accounts in India between March 26 and April 25. Most of these accounts were related to the promotion of child sexual abuse and pornography. Apart from this, the micro blogging platform also banned 1,303 accounts taking action against promoting terrorism in the country.
Social media platform X said in its monthly report that it has received 18,562 complaints from users in India through its grievance redressal mechanism. The company processed 118 complaints in which account suspension was appealed.
The decision to suspend four accounts was reversed
After reviewing the situation, the decision to suspend four of these accounts was withdrawn. During this period, 105 requests were received regarding general queries about the account. Most of the complaints from India were about restrictions violations, hateful behavior, adult content and abuse/harassment.
