More than a dozen people have been injured when a four-car tram crashed at Universal Studios Hollywood on Saturday night, authorities explained.
The final vehicle of the tram struck a rail when it was touring down a hill in the vicinity of a parking construction, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Lt. Maria Abal mentioned.
“There was some type of situation with the brakes,” Abal claimed. “We really don’t accurately know what however.”
The Los Angeles County Fireplace Section gained a contact at 9:04 p.m. and responded to the scene.
A total of 14 people were injured, like a person who experienced moderate accidents, according to Fredrick Fielding, a public info officer for the county Hearth Department.
At the very least four passengers ended up transported to the hospital with accidents that did not appear to be everyday living-threatening, Abal mentioned.
In a statement late Saturday, the theme park confirmed that an incident took area “that resulted in multiple minimal accidents.”
“We are working to assist our attendees and understand the conditions that led to the accident,” Universal Studios Hollywood said in a statement to The Occasions.
The park’s tram can keep more than 100 persons, Abal stated, but it was unclear how many ended up on board at the time of the incident.
The crash will be investigated by the California Freeway Patrol.
The Common Studios tram tour, named the World-Popular Studio Tour, is a signature attraction at the theme park. The park is celebrating the 60th anniversary of the journey commencing future 7 days.
