U.S. Rep. Rashida Tlaib, D-Michigan, criticized American universities on Thursday for responding to anti-Israel protests on campuses throughout the nation in which protesters have engaged in antisemitic actions.
“From UM to Vanderbilt to USC to Columbia, learners throughout our state are currently being retaliated in opposition to for employing their constitutional legal rights to protest genocide. It is appalling,” Tlaib wrote on X in reaction to a write-up by Isra Hirsi, the daughter of Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn.
Hirsi claimed she was suspended from New York City’s Barnard University several hours in advance of being arrested and later introduced for protesting from Israel at Columbia College.
