Sajid Mir is included in the list of India’s most wanted. In 2008, there was a terrorist attack in Mumbai by Pakistani terrorists. More than 166 civilians were killed in the attack which lasted for almost five days.
America was the last to propose
In 2022, before the Al-Qaeda Sanctions Committee 1267 of the United Nations Security Council, it was proposed to designate Sajid Mir as a global terrorist. U.S. The resolution moved by the Mir sought an asset freeze, travel ban and arms embargo. India supported it. America has announced a reward of 5 million dollars on Mir’s head. America also wants to arrest Sajid Mir as six Americans were among the dead in the 26/11 attacks. However, China vetoed the US proposal.
First there was a problem regarding Masood Azhar
Even before this, China has created hurdles in passing resolutions against terrorism by India and other countries. Last month, it got a technical grip on a US-backed proposal to blacklist Abdul Rauf Azhar, brother of Jaish-e-Mohammed chief Masood Azhar and a senior leader of the Pakistan-based terror outfit. Earlier it also became a hurdle in the proposal to declare Masood Azhar as a global terrorist.
India played an audio clip of Sajid Mir
Earlier in October 2022, at a United Nations Security Council meeting, India had exposed Pakistani involvement in the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks in front of the international community. It said that the handlers of the terrorists were plotting the Mumbai attack and how they executed the attack after giving orders. This order was given by Sajid Mir, who was sitting in Pakistan at that time giving instructions to the 10 terrorists who came to Mumbai over the phone.

This audio clip is from Mumbai’s Chabad House where Sajid Mir was telling the terrorists, ‘Wherever there is movement of people. If someone is walking on the roof or someone is coming, fire at them.
